One construction worker was killed and two others were injured when a piece of a construction crane fell onto a busy bridge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The incident occurred during the process of “stepping the crane.” First responders were called to the Southeast 3rd Avenue Bridge around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. It was reported that a platform holding equipment failed, causing the items to fall onto the bridge. The identity of the deceased worker has not been released, but a man and a woman were treated for minor injuries at Broward Health Medical Center. Another injured person did not require hospitalization.
