The Latin Recording Academy has announced that the annual Latin Grammy Awards will be returning to Miami for its landmark 25th anniversary. CEO Manuel Abud stated that Miami has become the epicenter of Latin entertainment and the Latin Grammys have played a significant role in spotlighting Latin music on a global scale since its inception in 2000. This year will mark the fourth time the awards show will be hosted in Miami, following previous events in 2003 and 2020, which took place without a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to bring the Latin Grammys back to Miami comes after last year’s ceremony in Sevilla, Spain, which was a departure from the traditional U.S. location. The 2023 awards show aimed to reflect Latin music’s global popularity by collaborating with Spain’s RTVE network and introducing new categories like Best Portuguese Language Urban Performance to recognize music from Brazil and Portugal. The show will be produced by TelevisaUnivision and broadcast live on Univision, Galavisión, and streamer ViX.

Latin Grammy Week events leading up to the 2024 telecast will take place across Miami-Dade County and will include the Leading Ladies of Entertainment, the Best New Artist Showcase, and the Person of the Year gala. Nominations for the awards will be announced on September 17, with the ceremony scheduled to take place on November 14, 2024 at the Kaseya Center starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT, preceded by a one-hour pre-show.

Ignacio Meyer, President of Univision Television Networks Group, expressed excitement about delivering another unforgettable night celebrating excellence in music for Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide. The Latin Grammy Awards have become an iconic event for Latin music, showcasing performances that have become a part of global music and pop culture history. With the return to Miami for the 25th anniversary, the Latin Recording Academy aims to continue honoring the best in Latin music and providing a platform for Latin artists to shine on an international stage.
