Google is offering lucrative pre-order deals for its latest release, the Pixel 8a. Customers who pre-order the phone will receive a $100 store credit from Google, as well as an additional 10% back in store credit for those with a Google One subscription. Additionally, the company is offering trade-in deals for customers looking to upgrade from their current devices. Owners of Pixel phones can receive up to $210 for the Pixel 7 Pro and $200 for the Pixel 7a, while owners of older Samsung phones may get up to $320 for devices such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The best trade-in deals are reserved for flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, which can net customers up to $499 in value. However, Google emphasizes that it is not worth trading in a recent high-end flagship phone for a slightly newer mid-range handset. These enhanced trade-in prices are temporary and will end on May 19th, giving buyers 30 days to send in their device for trade-in and receive credit on the card used for the Pixel 8a purchase.

In addition to the trade-in deals, Google is also offering promotions for customers who pre-order the Pixel 8a. Those who pre-order will receive three months of Google One with 100GB for free, as well as three months of YouTube Premium and six months of Fitbit Premium for free. The company is encouraging customers to sign up for Google One, which includes storage services and bundles in free subscriptions to Fitbit and Nest Aware in some territories.

For customers interested in the Pixel Tablet, Google is offering significant trade-in value for old tablets. For instance, a 7th generation iPad released in 2019 can fetch customers $399 off the Pixel Tablet, which itself is priced at $399. These enhanced trade-in prices will be available until May 20th, coinciding with the launch of new iPads by Apple. This highlights Google’s commitment to its tablet division and the competitive trade-in offers available for customers looking to upgrade their devices.

While the Pixel 8a pre-order deals may be enticing, the advice is to exercise patience as the initial price is likely to drop significantly in the coming months, based on Google’s past discounts on flagship devices. Those with older iPads may find the trade-in offer for the Pixel Tablet to be a solid deal, especially as Google is currently offering high trade-in prices for older iPad models. The aggressive pricing strategy by Google, which includes pushing Google One subscriptions, reflects the company’s focus on generating revenue from subscriptions and increasing customer loyalty. Ultimately, the decision to take advantage of the pre-order deals or wait for price drops will depend on individual preferences and needs.
