Natania Reuben, a woman who claims she was shot in the face by media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs at a New York City nightclub in 1999, is calling for the case to be reopened, despite Diddy being acquitted by a jury in 2001. Reuben alleges that she saw Diddy shoot her and has nine bullet fragments still in her face. This comes after producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of various offenses, including sexual assault and operating a racketeering enterprise. Jones claimed that Diddy admitted to being responsible for the shooting at Club New York in 1999, where Reuben was injured.

The shooting incident in 1999 involved multiple arrests, including Diddy’s bodyguard, Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, and Jennifer Lopez, Diddy’s then-girlfriend. Despite allegations and testimonies during the trial, Diddy and his associates were acquitted. Shyne, who maintained that he fired the gun into the air and not at anyone, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The aftermath of the shooting saw Shyne’s album reaching No. 3 on the Billboard pop charts while he was incarcerated, and Diddy and his bodyguard being acquitted.

The case involving Diddy and the nightclub shooting has resurfaced due to Lil Rod’s lawsuit and his claim that Diddy admitted to being responsible for the shooting. Reuben, who has been vocal about her version of events for years, believes that the case should be reopened to bring about justice for herself and other victims of Diddy’s alleged actions. The lawsuit is the fifth filed against Diddy, with singer-songwriter Cassie Ventura also filing a suit in November, which was quickly settled. Following these accusations, Diddy has stepped down from his role at Revolt and is currently under federal investigation.

Reuben expressed a sense of relief and hope for justice after hearing about the federal investigation and the renewed attention on Diddy’s alleged misconduct. She stated that for over 25 years, Diddy has denied responsibility for the shooting incident, despite Reuben and others believing otherwise. The case has become a focal point in recent headlines, with multiple women coming forward with allegations of sexual assault, rape, or abuse against Diddy and other men associated with him, prompting further scrutiny on Diddy’s actions and behavior.

The ongoing legal battles and investigations surrounding Diddy have raised questions about accountability and justice in cases of alleged misconduct involving powerful individuals in the entertainment industry. Reuben’s call for the case to be reopened highlights the importance of addressing past grievances and ensuring that those responsible for harm are held accountable. The outcome of these legal proceedings may have broader implications for how the industry handles allegations of misconduct and supports victims in seeking justice.
