Nothing, a brand founded by Carl Pei, has become known for its stylish earbuds and smartphones that target a younger audience interested in fashion and technology. The brand initially launched the Ear(1) true wireless earbuds, followed by the Ear(stick) and Ear (2) models. However, they have now shifted their focus to two new models: the Ear(a) and the Ear.

The Ear(a) is considered Nothing’s budget-friendly earbud model, featuring a vibrant banana yellow color. Despite being a more affordable option, the Ear(a) maintains the high-quality finish that Nothing is known for. On the other hand, the Ear model offers wireless charging and a Personal Sound Profile for customized sound preferences for a slightly higher price.

Both the Ear(a) and Ear models come with a smartphone app designed to optimize the user experience. The app includes features such as an Ear Tip Fit test to ensure proper fit for optimal sound quality, as well as controls for functions like Active Noise Canceling (ANC) and Bass Boost. The earbuds are equipped with large custom drivers, three microphones in each earpiece, and Qualcomm chipsets for superior sound quality.

The ANC on both earbud models offers three available levels and an adaptive setting for adjusting noise canceling on the go. The Qualcomm chip also includes cVc technology for clearer phone calls by filtering out background noise. The app allows users to customize controls on each earpiece, including pinch controls for additional functions.

Despite the stylish appearance and trendy branding of Nothing earbuds, the Ear(a) and Ear models are praised for their exceptional sound quality. The earbuds deliver high volume levels, detailed sound across all frequencies, and a Bass Enhance feature for extra bottom end if desired. The Ear(a) and Ear earbuds are highly recommended as a great alternative to Apple AirPods at a reasonable price.

The Nothing Ear(a) earbuds will be available starting April 22 for $99, while the slightly more premium Ear model will cost $149. Both models offer advanced features such as wireless charging, advanced EQ with profile sharing, Find My earbuds, and Personal Sound Profile. With their unique design, technical excellence, and affordable price point, the Nothing Ear(a) and Ear earbuds are a solid choice for consumers looking for stylish and high-performing wireless earbuds.
