Dan Perino, a 60-year-old man from New York, first gained attention in 2014 when he posted flyers looking for a film or TV role. The ads described him as a professional actor seeking work in the entertainment industry. After finding some success with his acting flyers, Perino decided to use the same tactic to find a girlfriend, posting around 40,000 flyers in the East Village with his photo and phone number.

The response to Perino’s girlfriend flyers was overwhelming, with many prank calls and dates resulting from them. He eventually became recognized on the street due to his campaign, so he stopped posting the flyers. Despite not finding a love match, he turned his experiences into a documentary and book titled “Looking for a Girlfriend.” After trying online dating and becoming tired of it, he decided to revive his flyer campaign to find a girlfriend once again.

Perino’s new flyers state that he is not just looking for a girlfriend, but for the perfect woman. He struggled to define what he was looking for, aside from wanting someone young, attractive, and not a stalker. Within the first two days, he received around 2,000 phone calls and thousands of texts, leading him to wear disguises in public to avoid being stopped frequently. He is currently too inundated with responses to choose a date but plans to sit down and filter through his options soon.

Despite the overwhelming response, Perino finds the experience fun and exciting. He enjoys the attention and is eager to see where his flyer campaign leads him in his search for the perfect woman. With a history of success using this unconventional method, he remains optimistic about finding a potential partner through his unique approach. As he continues to navigate the world of dating in New York City, Perino remains determined to find someone special through his unconventional and creative means of advertising for love.
