US President Joe Biden is now favored to win the 2024 election over Donald Trump, according to an online prediction market called Polymarket. Biden currently has a 45 percent chance of winning in November, narrowly ahead of Trump at 44 percent. This marks a significant turnaround in Biden’s reelection hopes, as just a few months ago, Polymarket gave Trump a 54 percent chance of winning with Biden trailing at 33 percent. By April 16, Biden had overtaken Trump with a 50 percent chance compared to 40 percent for the Republican.

This shift in the prediction market comes as Biden has been gaining momentum in recent polls, with some showing him beating or coming close to Trump. 270toWin, a poll aggregation website, currently has Biden slightly ahead of Trump at 44.1 percent to 43.8 percent, based on recent national surveys. Biden’s increase in popularity comes at a time when Trump is facing a historic trial in New York over allegations of hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep an alleged affair with Trump a secret before the 2016 election. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges related to this case, claiming it is a politically motivated attempt to hinder his chances in the 2024 election.

The trial has put a spotlight on Trump’s legal troubles and raised concerns about his potential impact on the upcoming election. Trump has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and has called the trial a “witch hunt” aimed at interfering with his bid for the presidency. Despite these challenges, he continues to be a formidable opponent to Biden, with a significant base of support among his followers. Biden, on the other hand, has been working to solidify his position as the Democratic candidate and demonstrate his ability to lead the country effectively.

As the race for the 2024 election heats up, both Biden and Trump are focused on presenting their messages to the American people and securing key endorsements. Biden’s rising popularity in the polls and prediction markets may give him an advantage going into the election, but Trump’s loyal base of supporters and his strong presence in the Republican party suggest that the race will be closely contested. The outcome of the election remains uncertain, and both candidates are likely to continue campaigning vigorously in the coming months to win over undecided voters and secure a victory in November.
