The testing version of the ckETH minter on Internet Computer (ICP) mainnet has been upgraded to feature the Sepolia version of the USDC token. Users can obtain Sepolia ETH and USDC from various faucets online and use them to mint ckETH and ckUSDC. DFINITY Foundation is developing technology for the Internet Computer blockchain, and the minter canister will use a portion of the ckSepoliaETH to cover transfer transactions on the Sepolia testnet. Developers interested in supporting conversions between ERC20 and the corresponding ck-twin token in their dapps are encouraged to start experimenting with ckUSDC. The project is still in development, so users may encounter bugs and the canister’s state may reset upon upgrades.

The ckSepoliaETH minter offers a dashboard displaying conversions and Ethereum transactions for both ckETH and ckERC20 transactions. Additionally, while ckETH is not required to deposit USDC, it is necessary to withdraw ckUSDC and receive USDC back. The canister IDs of the minter are available for reference. Currently, there is no user-friendly front-end available, so users should be comfortable using dfx calls, especially for the final step. Users are encouraged to report any bugs they encounter to help make the system more robust.

In June last year, an upgrade was launched on ICP to expand support for all canister smart contracts, allowing users to hold and transfer ICP tokens. DFINITY aims to directly integrate the Bitcoin network with the Internet Computer, enabling the use of smart contracts on Bitcoin through the application of Chain Key cryptography. The future of DeFi is being explored with ckUSDC Sepolia, the digital twin of USDC on ICP, with plans to introduce ckERC20 as the next step. It is important for users to engage with the Sepolia ETH and USDC tokens in order to mint ckETH and ckUSDC, and depositing USDC does not require ckETH, though it is needed to withdraw ckUSDC.

DFINITY Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is actively developing technology for the Internet Computer blockchain. Users can obtain Sepolia ETH and USDC from online faucets to engage with the Sepolia version of these tokens and mint ckETH and ckUSDC. Developers are encouraged to start experimenting with ckUSDC to support conversions between ERC20 and corresponding ck-twin tokens in their dapps. The minter canister will utilize a portion of the ckSepoliaETH to cover transfer transactions on the Sepolia testnet. While the project is still in development and bugs may be encountered, users are encouraged to report any issues for improvement. The integration of smart contracts on Bitcoin through Chain Key cryptography is a future goal of DFINITY to revolutionize DeFi on the Internet Computer platform.
