A woman accused former New South Wales police officer David Coleman of offering her money in exchange for sex during a meeting at a western Sydney park. The woman claimed that Coleman made lewd comments, touched her inappropriately, and attempted to engage in sexual acts with her. Despite feeling uncomfortable and not wanting to participate, the woman felt pressured by Coleman’s position as a police officer. She eventually agreed to show him her breasts in hopes of being helped with her ex-boyfriend issue.

During the trial, the woman recounted multiple encounters with Coleman where he allegedly sexually harassed and assaulted her. She stated that Coleman put money on the desk and told her she could leave after they had sex in one instance. The woman sought advice from her friend’s police officer parents after Coleman allegedly sent her messages on Snapchat offering cash for sex. She eventually decided to report the incidents to the police, leading to Coleman’s arrest after an investigation was launched.

Coleman has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual intercourse without consent, sexual touching without consent, and abusing his position of public office for his own sexual gratification. His defense barrister, Joel Brook, denied the allegations, stating that Coleman never sexually touched or had sex with the woman without her consent. However, the prosecution claimed that Coleman had abused his position of power by taking advantage of the woman’s vulnerability and coercing her to engage in sexual acts with him.

The woman expressed feeling shocked and uncomfortable during her encounters with Coleman. She felt pressured to comply due to Coleman’s authority as a police officer, even though she did not want to engage in any sexual activities with him. Despite her initial refusal, the woman eventually showed Coleman her breasts in order to end the encounter and seek help with her ex-boyfriend issue. She described feeling gross, frozen, and grossed out by Coleman’s actions and comments.

The trial continued with testimonies from the woman and other witnesses, detailing the incidents and allegations against Coleman. The woman emphasized that she was seeking help and support from Coleman regarding her ex-boyfriend situation, not to be subjected to sexual harassment and assault. The prosecution argued that Coleman had abused his position of power for his own sexual gratification, while the defense maintained his innocence and denied the charges brought against him. The trial before Judge Robert Montgomery is ongoing, and Coleman was dismissed from the police force due to the allegations and charges against him.
