Former President Donald Trump has demanded that President Biden coordinate a presidential debate after both 2024 candidates expressed enthusiasm for the idea. Trump wrote a letter to Biden via his Truth Social platform, challenging him to a debate at either the White House or in New York. Biden responded with a three-word statement, indicating his willingness to debate. Despite the back-and-forth challenges, no progress has been made in setting up a debate.

Trump and Biden have been trading challenges since Biden expressed his willingness to debate the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee on the Howard Stern Show. The Commission on Presidential Debates has stated that their original schedule will proceed, with the first debate scheduled for Sept. 16 in Texas. The second and third debates are set for October in Virginia and Utah, respectively, with a vice presidential debate planned for September in Pennsylvania. Despite Trump’s suggestions for an earlier debate, no changes have been made to the schedule.
