The 60th Baeksang Arts Awards recently announced the winners in various k-drama and Korean cinema categories. Hosted by Suzy Bae, Park Bo-gum, and Shin Dong-yup, the awards ceremony recognized candidates from TV shows, OTT programs, and films that aired or were released between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The Daesang or Grand Prize was awarded to the drama Moving, while the film grand prize went to 12.12: The Day.

Among the winners at the awards ceremony was the drama My Dearest, set in the Joseon era, which took home the award for Best Drama, as well as Best Actor and Actress awards for Namgoong Min and Ah Eun-jin. The Best Film award was given to 12:12 The Day, which features Jung Woo-sung and Hwang Jung-min in leading roles. Hwang Jung-min also received a Best Actor award for his portrayal of a charismatic dictator based on a real-life figure in the film.

In the TV categories, the Best Director award for a drama went to Han Dong-wook for The Worst of Evil, while Jang Jae Hyun won the Best Director award for his film Exhuma, a story about shamanism and exorcising trauma. Additionally, Ahn Jae-hong and Kang Mal Geum won Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards for their roles in various dramas.

Lee Do-hyun received the Best New Actor Film award for his role in the film Exhuma, alongside co-star Kim Go-eun, who won a Best Actress award for her performance in the same film. Bibi won the Best New Actress Film award for her part in Hopeless, while Yoo Na took home the Best New Actress TV award for her role in The Kidnapping Day. Kim Soo-hyun won the Most Popular Actor award for his role in Queen of Tears, and the Baeksang Popularity Award was also awarded to IVE lead singer An Yujin.

The awards ceremony was a celebration of talent in the Korean entertainment industry and recognized outstanding performances in both TV dramas and films. Held at the COEX in Seoul, the event brought together industry professionals and fans to honor the achievements of actors, directors, and writers in the past year. The winners represented a diverse range of genres and styles, showcasing the depth and breadth of talent in the Korean entertainment landscape.
