Shopsense AI, a retail media platform powered by artificial intelligence, is revolutionizing the way viewers can shop for their favorite TV and movie characters’ wardrobes. By partnering with Paramount Global, the platform was recently launched during the CMT Music Awards red carpet pre-show, offering a new mobile shopping experience that allows users to purchase products featured on their screens. Glenn Fishback, CEO of Shopsense AI, highlighted the growing trend of viewers using second screens to shop, with mobile devices being the most popular choice.

The idea for Shopsense AI came to fruition when cofounder Eve Friedman expressed her frustration at being unable to find a specific jacket worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in “And Just Like That”. This led to the development of a platform that makes it easy for viewers to find and buy products featured in their favorite content, whether it be TV shows, movies, sports events, or live award broadcasts. The platform not only showcases expensive items but also offers similar, more affordable options to cater to a wider range of consumers.

Fishback emphasized the importance of streamers taking control of the shopping experience within their own ecosystems, highlighting the success of platforms like Google and TikTok. By integrating Shopsense AI’s technology, streamers can make their content shoppable and readily available to viewers, ultimately driving revenue and engagement. While fashion remains a key focus, the platform has the potential to expand into other genres such as cooking shows or home remodeling, providing a diverse array of products and retailers for viewers to explore.

Paramount Global, the first network to launch the Shopsense AI platform, is committed to offering a variety of products at affordable prices, with a focus on keeping a large percentage of items under $100. The platform uses practical data sets to curate collections that balance high-end items with more budget-friendly options, ensuring accessibility for a wider audience. By leveraging AI technology, the platform can show similar items inspired by expensive products, allowing viewers to find affordable alternatives that align with their preferences.

As the platform continues to evolve, Fishback and Quinn, the cofounders of Shopsense AI, envision collaborations with various streamers and networks to highlight the diverse range of retailers and products available. By tapping into the curation expertise of streamers who invest heavily in creating original content, the platform aims to provide an entertaining shopping experience that complements the viewer’s overall engagement with the content. With the flexibility to expand into different categories such as home remodeling or cooking shows, Shopsense AI is poised to transform the way viewers interact with and shop for their favorite media content.
