Rebel Wilson has identified Sacha Baron Cohen as the actor she previously referred to as a “massive asshole” ahead of the release of her memoir, Rebel Rising. Wilson stated that she will not be intimidated by high-priced lawyers or crisis managers and confirmed that the actor in question is Sacha Baron Cohen. This led to a response from Baron Cohen’s representative, who stated that Wilson’s claims were false and contradicted by various evidence from the production of The Brothers Grimsby.

In her Instagram posts, Wilson mentioned her “no assholes” policy when it comes to working with people in Hollywood. She recounted an experience where she worked with a “massive asshole” on a movie, which led her to adopt this policy on all her projects. She revealed that the chapter about this actor is Chapter 23 in her memoir, promising to name the individual in question. Wilson also claimed she was being threatened by the former costar to stop the publication of her book.

Back in 2014, Wilson accused Baron Cohen of harassment during their work on The Brothers Grimsby. She claimed that Baron Cohen made inappropriate requests during filming, such as asking her to go naked and stick her finger up his butt. This led to a discomforting experience for Wilson, who considered calling their mutual agent to report the situation. However, Baron Cohen has never publicly addressed these allegations.

In a separate incident in 2017, Wilson shared that she was a victim of sexual harassment by a male star who asked her to perform a sexual act while his friends tried to film it. She reported the incident to her agent and the studio but was allegedly threatened by the star’s representatives to stay quiet. Wilson described the entire experience as disgusting and upsetting.

Wilson also recounted another case of alleged harassment with a prominent movie director in 2021. She mentioned that the director tried to ply her with alcohol and mentioned her in a suspicious manner during a phone call with his wife. This incident made Wilson feel uncomfortable, prompting her to leave the room hastily before anything escalated. Wilson’s memoir, Rebel Rising, where she details these experiences, is set to be released on April 2nd.

Overall, Rebel Wilson’s revelations about her experiences with harassment and uncomfortable situations in Hollywood shed light on the challenges faced by actors in the industry. Her decision to speak out about these incidents, including naming the individuals involved, emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and respectful work environment for everyone in the entertainment industry.
