Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver made a strong debut on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies chart for the week of April 15-21. The Netflix original film is the sequel to Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire and premiered on the streaming platform on April 19. The story follows Kora, who leads a group of rebels against the militaristic planet known as the Motherworld.

The Scargiver continues the space fantasy plot of the Rebel Moon saga, with Kora discovering that the tyrant she thought she had defeated in A Child of Fire, Admiral Atticus Noble, has survived and is returning to crush the rebellion. Despite receiving a 15% “rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 84 reviews, the film garnered 21.4 million views in its first weekend on Netflix, making it the No. 1 entry on the Global Top 10 Movies chart.

In contrast, the true-crime documentary What Jennifer Did remained at No. 1 on the U.S. Top 10 Movies chart, while The Scargiver entered at No. 3. Despite the critical reception, viewers on Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 52% positive rating based on over 1,000 ratings. Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire fared slightly better with a 21% “rotten” rating from critics and a 57% positive Audience Score.

Zack Snyder has hinted at R-rated cuts of both A Child of Fire and The Scargiver that will stream on Netflix, but official release dates have not been announced. The future of the Rebel Moon saga remains uncertain, with no confirmation of additional chapters in the works. For now, fans can continue following Kora’s journey by streaming both films on Netflix.

Overall, The Scargiver exceeded expectations on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies chart despite criticism from critics. The Rebel Moon saga continues to captivate viewers with its space fantasy world and compelling characters, leaving audiences eager for more chapters in the future. The success of The Scargiver proves that viewers are still drawn to Snyder’s epic storytelling and visually stunning filmmaking.
