Law enforcement sources have conducted a search in the eastern Long Island community of Manorville, New York, where partial remains of two of the 11 Gilgo Beach victims were discovered. The search is connected to the ongoing investigation of the case, although authorities have not confirmed a direct link to the victims. The Suffolk County Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, are working with the District Attorney’s Office on the investigation, but details are scarce as the investigation is ongoing. Rex Heurmann, a suspected serial killer in the Gilgo Beach murders, has been arrested in connection with the slayings of four women from Gilgo Beach. However, he has not been named a suspect in the other deaths.

The search in Manorville is part of an effort to uncover further evidence related to the unsolved cases in the Gilgo Beach investigation. The remains of 11 victims were discovered along Ocean Parkway in 2010 and 2011, with two of the victims found in Manorville. There are still six unsolved cases, including those of Jessica Taylor and Valerie Mack who were dismembered and dumped in separate locations. The investigation into these cases has been ongoing, and authorities are committed to exploring all leads to bring closure to the families of the victims.

John Bittrolff, another Long Island serial killer serving two consecutive 25-year to life sentences for the murders of Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee, has been mentioned as a possible suspect in the Gilgo Beach cases. Bittrolff lived in Manorville and was considered a suspect in the Gilgo murders at one point. There are similarities between the two cases, but Bittrolff’s attorney has denied any connection to the Gilgo Beach murders. However, criminal profilers and investigators believe there may be a link between the cases due to the proximity of the victims’ remains and the similarities in the disposal methods.

Unlike Rex Heurmann, who allegedly met his victims online, John Bittrolff interacted with his victims in person. Bittrolff’s victims were also posed and left to be found, indicating a different modus operandi compared to Heurmann. Investigators are looking into the possibility of Bittrolff being involved in additional murders beyond his known victims. Heurmann has pleaded not guilty to the murders of the Gilgo Four and has not been linked to the other unsolved cases. Authorities are working diligently to gather more evidence and information to solve the remaining cases and bring justice to the victims and their families.

The search in Manorville is part of the larger effort to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Gilgo Beach serial killings and bring closure to the families of the victims. The investigation involves multiple law enforcement agencies working together to follow leads and examine potential connections to other cases. With the involvement of criminal profilers and experts, authorities are exploring all possible angles to identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous crimes. The case continues to capture public attention and interest, as the search for answers and justice for the victims remains ongoing.
