WiiM has introduced the WiiM Ultra, a new streamer with a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen that displays the current track and playback controls. This device is much more affordable compared to other competitive streamers and also functions as a preamp when connected to a power amp. The WiiM Ultra offers various connections such as HDMI ARC, analog line-in, phono input, optical inputs and outputs, subwoofer out, and a headphone jack. It includes an ES9038 Sabre DAC, room correction technology, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and supports various streaming formats like Spotify Connect, Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, Amazon multiroom, and Roon Ready.

In addition to the WiiM Ultra, the company has also introduced the WiiM Amp Pro, a 60-watt-per-channel amplifier with similar streaming capabilities but without a screen. The WiiM Pro is currently CNET’s favorite streamer for most people, while the Pro Plus is a suitable option for those looking to share analog sources throughout their home. The WiiM Ultra is priced competitively at $329, and the Amp Pro will retail for $369. The EverSolo DMP-A6 is the only other streamer with a screen in a similar price range at $859, while the popular Bluesound Node, which does not have an LCD screen, is priced at $599. The WiiM devices are set to be released in Q3, and are expected to offer quality performance at an affordable price point.

The WiiM Ultra stands out with its combination of a touchscreen display, preamp capabilities, and a range of connectivity options, making it a versatile and cost-effective choice for music enthusiasts. With the ES9038 Sabre DAC and built-in room correction technology, the WiiM Ultra ensures high-quality sound output with minimal distortion. Additionally, the support for various streaming formats and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity make it easy to access and control music from different devices.

The WiiM Amp Pro offers similar streaming features and a powerful amplifier, making it a convenient all-in-one solution for users looking to upgrade their audio setup. While lacking a screen, the Amp Pro makes up for it with its high-quality sound output and versatile connectivity options. The WiiM Pro and Pro Plus are also recommended choices for users looking for reliable and affordable streaming solutions, with the Pro Plus catering to those who want to share analog sources in multiple rooms.

Overall, the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro showcase WiiM’s commitment to providing high-quality audio streaming solutions at a competitive price point. With advanced features such as a touchscreen display, preamp capabilities, and a range of connectivity options, these devices offer a versatile and user-friendly experience for music lovers. The upcoming release of these WiiM devices in Q3 is anticipated to bring reliable performance and value for money to the streaming market.
