Pakistan’s military has announced that a suicide bombing in March, which killed five Chinese engineers and a Pakistani driver, was coordinated in Afghanistan. Four individuals involved in the attack were captured, shedding light on the situation. The Pakistani government has taken measures to address illegal migration, leading to the deportation of over half a million Afghans. The incident was an attempt to disrupt the relationship between Pakistan and China, as many Chinese workers are involved in projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sharif revealed that the suicide bombing was planned by the Afghan Taliban, who have been responsible for an increase in attacks across Pakistan since January. Despite promises made by the Afghan Taliban government, they have failed to prevent their territory from being used for attacks against other countries. The Pakistani Taliban, closely aligned with the Afghan Taliban, have played a role in the violence in Pakistan. The Pakistani military has taken action to crack down on illegal migrants, with over 560,000 Afghans returning to their home country since the start of the crackdown.

Sharif stated that Pakistan will not tolerate any foreigners residing in the country without proper documentation. As part of efforts to improve border security, Pakistan has constructed a fence along its border with Afghanistan, with 98% completion, and along the Iranian border, with 91% completion. The porous border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, home to the Pashtun ethnic group, has been a point of contention. Contrary to rumors, there are no talks or deals being pursued with imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan or his political party, as Khan is serving time for various charges.

The Pakistani military has emphasized the close relationship between the TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) and the Afghan Taliban, highlighting the connection between the two groups. The Afghan Taliban government has not responded to the allegations made by Pakistan. The focus on border security aims to prevent illegal movement, smuggling, and cross-border militant attacks. The completion of the fence along the Afghan and Iranian borders signifies Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing security in the region. Despite challenges, Pakistan remains vigilant in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and stability of its borders.

In light of the recent surge in violence and attacks, Pakistan has taken decisive actions to address security concerns and prevent further incidents. The government’s crackdown on illegal migrants reflects a broader strategy to enhance border control and enforce immigration laws. The involvement of the Afghan Taliban in orchestrating attacks within Pakistan underscores the complex challenges faced by the region. Through enhanced border security measures and collaboration with international partners, Pakistan is working to address threats posed by militant groups and ensure the safety of its citizens and foreign workers. The ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and prevent cross-border attacks demonstrate Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and security.
