Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota is set to release a book titled “No Going Back,” which details her life lessons learned through her experiences in family farming, Congress, and her current role as Governor. The book has already caused a stir in the news cycle, with the Governor emphasizing her support for former President Donald Trump. Noem described Trump as a “bull in a china shop” and expressed her willingness to support him in his future political endeavors.

One controversial excerpt from the book that has garnered attention is a story detailing Noem’s decision to put down her hunting dog, Cricket, after it displayed aggressive behavior towards neighbors and animals on her farm. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle criticized the governor for this decision, sparking the creation of a bipartisan Congressional Dog Lovers Caucus. Noem defended her choice, stating that she prioritized the safety of people over an animal that posed a threat.

In addition to the dog controversy, Noem also discussed a phone call with former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley in her book, where she claimed to feel “threatened” by Haley’s inconsistent political stance. Noem accused Haley of being beholden to polls and donors, rather than standing firm in her beliefs. Haley’s team disputed the characterization of the conversation, calling it a “twist.”

Reflecting on GOP losses in the 2022 midterms, Noem attributed the party’s failure to achieve a majority in the US Senate to the Republican National Committee. She emphasized the need to move forward rather than trying to revert to the past, suggesting that chaos can lead to progress. Noem believes that the best days for America are ahead and encourages everyday Americans to participate in shaping the country’s future.

“No Going Back” is set to be officially launched on Tuesday, May 7th, where Noem shares her thoughts on the current state of politics and how Americans can contribute to moving the country forward. The book addresses the impact of Donald Trump’s entrance into politics, asserting that he changed the political landscape. Noem’s book serves as a guide for citizens to step into the chaos and work towards a brighter future for the nation.
