She remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The incident comes less than 10 months after a new bride was killed in a golf buggy incident on the same popular island while on her honeymoon.

Sydney man Robbie Awad and his new wife Marina Hanna were holidaying on the Whitsundays island days after getting married on June 11.

Awad, 31, had been driving the buggy at the time of the crash on June 20.

It’s believed he had been performing a U-turn when the vehicle tipped over, resulting in Hanna suffering fatal injuries.
