Baby toy recalled over fears it could cause death: ‘Destroy it’

A baby toy has been recalled over fears it could pose a potential risk of “choking, suffocation or death”.

Product Safety Australia (PSA) issued the alert for a wooden stick rattle sold by Littlespudau on Etsy.

It was sold between August 1, 2022 and November 1, 2022.

The rattles, which can be bought individually or in a set with other products, do not comply with size requirements of the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to 36 months old, according to PSA.

As a result, the toy poses a risk of choking, suffocation or death to young children.

Consumers have been advised to “immediately” stop using the rattle and should “destroy the product”.

“Contact Littlespudau to arrange a full refund of the rattle,” PSA said.

Littlespudau can be contacted via Etsy or email [email protected].
