200% increase in sales of “3 days of major discounts” in Dubai

The May edition of the semi-annual “3 Days of Big Sale” event achieved impressive success, in light of the great turnout of shoppers who benefited from discounts of up to 90% on the most famous international brands.

The latest session of the “3 Days of Grand Sale” event organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation was held from May 26 to 28, with the participation of about 560 brands and more than 2,500 stores, which witnessed a 200% increase in sales compared to the first session of the festival. The event was held in 2017. Tens of thousands of shoppers went to shopping centers and stores in the city participating in these discounts to take advantage of the exceptional offers, which amounted to 90% on fashion and beauty products, home appliances, electronics, shoes, accessories, eyeglasses, gold, jewelry and others.

Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festival and Retail Corporation, said: “The“ 3 Days of Grand Sale” event in Dubai offers a unique shopping experience, as it enables retailers to display their various products and attract shoppers with unbeatable offers. The results achieved by the event, which was held in May 2023, reflect the significant positive impact on shopper turnout and sales of participating brands and malls. The Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation seeks to enhance Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for shopping globally, as well as provide unparalleled value to citizens and residents, as well as contribute to attracting more visitors from all over the world, through events and shopping festivals that are held throughout the year.

Successful campaigns

Many of the brands, shopping malls and stores participating in the “3 Days of Big Sale” event launched successful and distinctive campaigns over the course of the three days, and the loyalty program “Tickit” launched by Dubai Holding saw the number of daily transactions double (100% increase). More than one in four of its customers (26%) shopped during the sales period. The total spend through the Ticket program during the event was 20% of the total monthly spend of the program’s customers, compared to the previous month.

The “3 Days of Big Sale” event is scheduled to be held again in November 2023, to offer shoppers huge seasonal offers and discounts on fashion, beauty, lifestyle, furniture, electronics and more, with the participation of famous shopping centers, stores and various destinations across the city.

Pankaj Kumar, Head of Multi-Channel Retail, Jumbo Electronics Group, said: “Jumbo Electronics achieved impressive growth, recording double the number of visitors and sales after the weekend, during which it offered discounts of 70% on products. The raffle draws were also a huge success, and 18 amazing prizes were presented to the shoppers.”

The “3 Days of Super Sale” in May exceeded all expectations, as the malls witnessed a significant increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous year. City Center Mirdif and Mall of the Emirates witnessed a 6% increase in the number of visitors, and City Center Deira witnessed a 39% increase in the number of visitors. These numbers are a clear indication of the increased demand for offers and events in our malls, which confirms our commitment to providing an exceptional shopping and entertainment experience for our customers.”
