A miniature dachshund named Peach behaves nothing like a typical dog, thanks to being raised by three cats: Ducky, Mr. Big, and Rufio. The cats have had a significant impact on Peach’s behavior, with Berken describing them as a “little gang” that loves wresting Peach. Despite not interacting with other dogs, Peach has picked up on the habits of the cats, leading her to exhibit more feline-like behavior. In a TikTok video, Peach is seen snuggled up with two of the cats, yawning and preparing to take a nap together.

Rufio, one of the cats who is only a few weeks older than Peach, plays fetch with the dachshund, who also snuggles with all the kitties as if she is part of their pack. Peach has been seen climbing a cat tree and laying in a hammock with the cats, displaying behavior more typical of felines than canines. One viewer even pointed out that Peach’s yawn looked like a cat yawn, leading Berken to reflect on the humorous situation. Dogs and cats can pick up habits from each other when living together, with some breeds known for exhibiting cat-like characteristics.

Some dog breeds, such as Shiba Inus and Vizslas, are known to display cat-like behavior, lounging, grooming themselves, or acting like they run the household. Pet owners have shared stories of their dogs and cats exhibiting behaviors typically associated with the opposite species, leading to what could be described as an “identity crisis” for the pets involved. Despite these unique behaviors, dogs and cats can form strong bonds and influence each other’s habits while living together. The relationship between Peach the miniature dachshund and her three cat siblings showcases the unique dynamics that can develop between pets of different species. While Peach may look like a dog, her behavior is heavily influenced by the cats that helped raise her, leading to a playful and affectionate bond between them. As Peach engages in activities typically associated with cats, such as snuggling, climbing, and lounging, it is clear that the distinctions between species can blur in the presence of strong relationships and shared experiences. Through humor and heartwarming interactions, Peach and her feline siblings demonstrate the lasting impact of companionship across species boundaries.
