Jason Biggs admitted to his wife, Jenny Mollen, on her podcast “All That Fails” that he used to be so addicted to alcohol that he would drink even after attending counseling sessions without her knowing. Mollen was shocked to hear that her husband was struggling so much with the substance and couldn’t believe she had never noticed before. Biggs revealed that he would find sneaky ways to drink without her knowledge, so he could numb himself and avoid connecting emotionally with her.

The actor explained that he had it all figured out in terms of drinking enough to numb himself but not too much that he couldn’t have a conversation with Mollen. He admitted to replacing bottles in the bar constantly and engaging in behaviors to keep her off his trail. He mentioned that if he shared some specific examples with her, she would likely be able to look back and connect the dots, realizing that she missed the signs of his addiction.

Biggs shared on Instagram in 2018 that he had been struggling with alcohol and drugs for over five years before he managed to achieve one year of sobriety. He encouraged others who are struggling with substance abuse to seek help and not be ashamed of their difficulties. Biggs and Mollen have been married since 2008 and have two sons together. They met while filming the 2008 movie “My Best Friend’s Girl” and have been open about their relationship struggles, including Biggs’ battle with addiction.

Mollen was curious to learn more about the behaviors that Biggs engaged in to hide his addiction from her. She expressed surprise at the extent of his deception, such as constantly replacing bottles in the bar. Biggs emphasized that he had the science of drinking down to a T, allowing him to escape his emotions and disconnect from his present reality. He encouraged others who are struggling with addiction to seek help and be proud of any progress they make towards sobriety.

The couple’s candid conversation shed light on the challenges they faced in their relationship due to Biggs’ addiction. Mollen’s initial shock at hearing about the extent of his alcoholism highlighted the importance of communication and openness in a marriage. Biggs’ admission of his struggle with sobriety and his journey towards recovery serves as a reminder that seeking help and support is crucial in overcoming addiction. Their story is a testament to the power of love, forgiveness, and perseverance in overcoming personal challenges, even within the context of a high-profile marriage in Hollywood.
