Future and Metro Boomin have once again dominated the music charts with their latest joint project, We Still Don’t Trust You. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, just three weeks after their first collaborative album, We Don’t Trust You, achieved the same feat. We Still Don’t Trust You amassed 127,500 album units from sales and streams in the U.S. in its first week, following in the footsteps of its predecessor which reached 251,000 units.

The success of We Still Don’t Trust You has knocked Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter to the second spot on the chart, with We Don’t Trust You currently holding the third position. The first album sparked controversy with Kendrick Lamar’s diss verse on the track “Like That,” which led to a series of rap beefs involving J. Cole, Drake, Rick Ross, ASAP Rocky, and The Weeknd. This energy carried over to the second album, with ASAP Rocky’s suggestive lyrics hinting at Drake and Rihanna’s rumored relationship, while The Weeknd subtly referenced Drake and his OVO collective in “All to Myself.”

“Like That” from the first album also made a powerful debut at the top of various Billboard charts, fueled by Kendrick Lamar’s provocative references to J. Cole and Drake. The track garnered an impressive 10.26 million on-demand streams in the United States on its first day alone, with a total of 25.62 million streams within three days. It also received 3.73 million plays on Spotify, surpassing competitors by 400,000 streams and debuting at number one on the platform’s U.S. chart.

We Still Don’t Trust You marks Future’s tenth album to debut at number one, and Metro Boomin’s fifth to achieve this feat. This accomplishment surpasses Future’s previous record for the shortest time between number one debuts, which he achieved with the back-to-back releases of his self-titled album and HNDRXX in March 2017. The continued success of the two artists showcases their ability to connect with audiences and maintain their position at the top of the charts, solidifying their status in the music industry.
