Formula E and the FIA have revealed the GEN3 Evo car, set to debut in Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in 2025. Named the fastest accelerating single-seat race car in the world, it can go from 0-60 mph in just 1.82 seconds, marking a significant advancement in power and aerodynamics over the current GEN3 model.
Unveiled by H.S.H. Prince Albert of Monaco’s private car collection, the GEN3 Evo represents a 36% increase in speed and 30% faster acceleration to 0-60 mph compared to the current GEN3. It is a result of the collaborative effort between Formula E and the FIA to push the boundaries of sustainable motorsport while delivering competitive racing. The car is a testament to the continuous innovation in electric racing technology.
A key feature of the GEN3 Evo is the introduction of all-wheel drive (AWD), a first for Formula E, which will be available during specific racing moments such as qualifying duels, race starts, and Attack Mode. Additionally, Formula E has partnered with Hankook to develop a new all-weather iON tire set that offers 5-10% more grip and is made from 35% recycled and sustainable materials, aligning with Formula E’s sustainability initiative.

During testing in Monaco, the car recorded a qualifying lap estimated to be 2% faster than the current GEN3 model, indicating a significant performance improvement.
Despite initial delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rollout of the GEN3 Evo is now in full swing, with Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds highlighting a 30% improvement in acceleration speed and a strong focus on technological advancements.
