Anti-Israel protesters at the University of California, Los Angeles have set up a Palestine Solidarity Encampment and have put out a bizarre list of requested donations, indicating their preparation for battle. The list includes items such as skater helmets, shields, wood for barriers, elbow and knee pads, medical supplies, food, and sleeping bags. Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA have claimed that they will not leave until their demands are met and have asked for defensive tools such as headlamps, airsoft goggles, gas masks, and flashlights with strobe. They have also requested utility gloves, rope, zip-ties, generators, Epi-Pens, inhalers, lotion, and Aquaphor.

The list of requested items also includes a separate spreadsheet for donors interested in providing food but with clear warnings that certain items are not permitted at the encampment. Prohibited items include packaged food, coffee, bagels, bananas, and nuts. Sunscreen is also banned, with the only acceptable foods being vegan and gluten-free items, with a specific request for hot food for lunch. The donation list was published on the group’s Instagram page, where they also compared themselves to Palestinians in the Gaza war following a violent clash on campus. The protesters claimed they were assaulted by counter-protesters armed with pepper spray, gas canisters, and bricks, leading to their request for shields and gas masks.

The violent clash on campus led to UCLA canceling classes and shutting down Royce Hall and the area near the encampment for the rest of the week. The university stated that law enforcement presence has been increased throughout campus to promote safety and that Student Affairs will have essential staff on campus to support students impacted by the incident. The document shared by Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA also hilariously requests utility gloves without reinforced knuckles and sizes for small hands. It also lists items such as rope, zip-ties, electric and solar-powered generators, Epi-Pens, inhalers, lotion, and Aquaphor.

Despite the chaos and violence, the protesters have maintained their resolve to continue their encampment until their demands are met. They have also requested items such as flashlights with strobe, utility gloves, rope, zip-ties, and medical supplies. The donation list includes a warning that certain food items are not allowed at the encampment, and only vegan and gluten-free items are accepted. The situation at UCLA remains tense, with the university taking measures to ensure the safety of students and staff following the violent altercation on campus. Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA continue to hold their ground and claim that they will not leave until their demands are met.
