FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri has returned to training as he aims to be fit for the club’s Champions League quarterfinal clash with Paris Saint-Germain next month. The Spanish star had been sidelined since March 3 due to a right thigh injury suffered during a match against Athletic Club. Despite the setback, Pedri expressed optimism on social media, stating that he is determined to return to action soon.

Reports initially suggested that Pedri could be out for five to six weeks, but Barca’s head coach Xavi Hernandez reassured fans by stating that the injury was not as serious as originally feared. Hernandez expressed hope that Pedri would be back on the pitch supporting the team in the near future. Now, almost a month after his injury, Pedri has rejoined training with his teammates and is showing positive signs of progress.

Pedri is reportedly eager to be available for the Champions League clash with PSG on April 10, although it is unlikely that he will start the match. However, his return to training indicates that he could be included in the squad for the crucial fixture. In the meantime, Pedri could also feature in the team’s upcoming match against Cadiz, potentially gaining more playing time and match fitness ahead of the clash with PSG at the Montjuic Stadium on April 16.

In Pedri’s absence, Xavi is expected to rely on a midfield trio of Andreas Christensen, Ilkay Gundogan, and Fermin Lopez, who performed well in the previous round against Napoli. The return of Pedri would provide Xavi with additional options in midfield and could strengthen Barcelona’s chances in the Champions League quarterfinals. As Pedri continues his recovery and training, fans are hopeful that the talented midfielder will be back on the pitch soon, contributing to Barca’s pursuit of success in Europe.
