Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt is selling his Northern California compound in Atherton for $24.5 million, significantly more than the $2 million he paid for the property in 1990. The 3.3-acre estate includes a main mansion and a guesthouse designed by Schwanke Architecture, totaling five bedrooms and eight bathrooms in over 5,200 square feet. The property features a sunroom, gourmet kitchen, and luxurious primary bedroom with a private terrace and marble bath.

The grounds of the Atherton estate are lush and well-maintained, with mature plants and specimen trees, a swimming pool and spa, and various outdoor areas for relaxing and entertaining. There is also a separate building for security and a greenhouse imported from the United Kingdom. Schmidt’s real estate holdings also include a $65 million parcel of undeveloped land in Beverly Hills, a historic mansion in Washington, D.C., and island homes in Miami Beach, totaling $114 million in value.

The Atherton property features an entry foyer with hardwood floors and a curved staircase leading to a living room with a fireplace, formal dining room, and a gourmet kitchen with custom marble countertops and high-end appliances. The adjacent breakfast nook opens to a patio with a water feature. Additionally, there is a fireside sitting room, office/study, family room with a wet bar, and a sunroom that opens to the outdoor living spaces.

The main mansion and guesthouse were extensively remodeled during Schmidt’s ownership, with high-end finishes and modern amenities throughout. The primary bedroom includes a dressing room and a luxurious bath with a soaking tub and marble shower. The expansive private terrace offers views of the picturesque grounds, which include a conservatory-style greenhouse and multiple areas for outdoor lounging and entertaining.

Schmidt’s real estate portfolio also includes a $65 million parcel of land in Beverly Hills once owned by tech billionaire Paul Allen, as well as a historic mansion in Washington, D.C., previously resided in by Jackie Kennedy. With a net worth estimated at $24 billion, Schmidt’s properties in Atherton and beyond showcase his taste for luxury and exclusivity.
