Edmonton police officer Tristian Hoath is not your average cop. Standing at 6 foot 3 tall and weighing over 300 pounds, he is known as the ‘strongest cop in Canada.’ With the ability to bench press over 500 pounds and deadlift 815 pounds, Hoath has set his sights on becoming the World’s Strongest Man. Over the weekend, he competed in a series of events in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, becoming only the fourth person from western Canada to attend the prestigious competition. Despite his imposing physique, Hoath joined the EPS in 2018 and quickly made a name for himself in the world of strongman competitions.

While Hoath finds fulfillment in his job as a police officer, he also enjoys helping out in the community through volunteering with kids’ sports and youth strength training activities. In 2021, he placed 5th in Canada’s Strongest Man competition and went on to win the Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic in Iceland. Just two weeks before the World’s Strongest Man competition, he emerged victorious in the Strongman’s Champion League in Martinique. Despite the short preparation time, he was able to secure a spot as a reserve athlete and eventually make it to the final in his rookie year at the World’s Strongest Man.

With a rigorous training schedule that sees him in the gym five to six days a week, Hoath credits his police family for supporting him in his journey to becoming one of the top 10 strongest men in the world.
