Kane had become known as the “Mayor of Spring Street and Court Street” in the neighborhood and was a lovable indoor/outdoor cat who frequented a deli down the street. The deli owner’s actions resulted in Kane going missing for several months, causing distress for his family. The community’s efforts to find Kane were successful, with the cat eventually being reunited with DiGiovanni and her son, who had received Kane as a gift from his late stepfather.
