Alan Ritchson, known for his role in the Prime Video series Reacher, is making a return to Netflix in May with the arrival of all three seasons of the sports comedy Blue Mountain State. The series originally aired on Spike TV from 2010-2011 and follows the wild escapades of the Blue Mountain State college football team. Ritchson portrays Kevin “Thad” Castle, a senior linebacker on the team, with co-stars Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also featuring in the show.

Former NFL player Ed Marinaro appears as the team’s head coach Marty Daniels, adding to the star-studded cast of the series. Notable sports personalities like Bill Parcells and Boomer Esiason also made cameo appearances throughout the 39 episodes. Ritchson reprised his role as Thad in the 2016 spinoff movie Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, which further solidified his connection to the character.

Despite the passage of eight years since the release of the spinoff movie, there is buzz around a potential Blue Mountain State sequel series. Deadline reported that a sequel is in the works, with Ritchson, Brooks, and Romano already on board for the project. Prime Video and Netflix are among the streaming platforms showing interest in the upcoming series, suggesting a promising future for fans of the show.

While juggling his television commitments, Ritchson has also been busy in the film industry. In recent years, he has featured in major productions such as the Fast and Furious sequel Fast X, where he played a supporting role alongside Vin Diesel. Additionally, Ritchson starred opposite Hilary Swank in the faith-based movie Ordinary Angels, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Most recently, Ritchson returned to the big screen in the action-adventure film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill and Eiza González. The movie is loosely based on a classified mission by a group of British military operatives during World War II, providing Ritchson with the opportunity to showcase his talent in a different genre. Currently, Ritchson is focused on filming the third season of Reacher for Prime Video, continuing his streak of successful projects in both television and film.

As fans anticipate the return of Blue Mountain State to Netflix in May, they can also look forward to potentially seeing more of Thad Castle in a sequel series. With Ritchson at the helm of the project alongside his co-stars, there is excitement surrounding the prospect of revisiting the beloved characters and storyline in a new format. In the meantime, audiences can catch Ritchson in a variety of upcoming films, showcasing his range and talent in different genres on the big screen.
