Former Representative George Santos has made serious allegations against Kanye “Ye” West, following the resignation of Milo Yiannopoulos from West’s Yeezy brand. Yiannopoulos stepped down from his role as chief of staff and cited West’s reported move into producing pornographic content as his reason for leaving. Santos shared a post on X, alleging that West is experiencing a “breakdown” over a mass exodus of staffers and has lost his entire team. He also shared quotes from unnamed sources claiming that the company is going belly up and that West is a danger to himself at this point.
Yiannopoulos tendered his resignation stating that he cannot be complicit in the production or dissemination of pornographic content for moral, religious, and personal reasons. He offered to deliver an orderly handover or be present at the first pornography shoot, whichever comes sooner. If the company were to abandon plans for producing such content in the future, Yiannopoulos expressed a willingness to serve West again. Santos, who was expelled from the House due to ethics violations, alleged through social media that West’s situation is dire, with executives quitting and the company falling apart, painting a picture of a troubled and unsupported West.
In November 2022, West announced a presidential run for the 2024 election under the name Ye. He enlisted the help of Yiannopoulos for his campaign, which was eventually abandoned. West had faced controversy for meeting with Donald Trump and white nationalist Nick Fuentes, as well as losing major brand deals over antisemitic remarks, including one with Adidas worth $1 billion. West’s fortune dropped to $400 million after losing the Adidas deal, and his California-based school named after his late mother, Donda West, was shut down. He also faced legal issues related to the school closure.
Santos’ allegations against West come at a time when the rapper and designer is facing significant challenges within his brand and personal life. The reported exodus of staffers, move into producing pornographic content, and potential mental health struggles highlighted by Santos raise questions about the stability of the Yeezy brand and West’s well-being. Despite Santos’ own legal troubles and expulsion from the House, he has taken to social media to share information about the situation with West, indicating that the conversation is ongoing and more details may emerge in the future.
