Comedian Tiffany Haddish recently opened up about her arrest for driving under the influence, her second DUI in two years. She was charged with two misdemeanors but accepted a plea deal in February, resulting in the charges being dropped. Haddish pleaded no contest to a “wet reckless” charge, which is reckless driving involving alcohol. She described her experience in a Beverly Hills jail as “fancy,” with sparkling water from the sink and what appeared to be organic rice paper toilet paper.

On the day of her arrest, Haddish had a busy schedule that included waking up at 5 a.m., working out, cooking collard greens, and serving food to nearly 3,000 homeless people at the Laugh Factory. She then went to her aunt’s house for Thanksgiving dinner and later received a call from a friend in need of food. She made the decision to deliver the food herself, even though she was feeling sleepy after having a drink. Thankfully, her Tesla car’s safety features kicked in and parked itself to prevent any accidents.

Following her second DUI arrest, Haddish decided to practice both sobriety and celibacy. She mentioned that she is not drinking any alcohol and only plans to do so again if she ever gets engaged. She stated that practicing sobriety has made a positive impact on her physical well-being, as she no longer experiences aches and pains in the morning. Additionally, she explained that her decision to be celibate is related to her mental clarity and focus.

Haddish clarified that her decision to be celibate does not mean she has stopped dating. She mentioned that she still enjoys going out on dates and getting a free meal without engaging in sexual activity. This decision is a personal choice she made as part of her journey towards self-improvement and focusing on her overall well-being. Through her candid interviews, Haddish has been open about her experiences and the lessons she has learned from her past mistakes, emphasizing the importance of self-care and self-restraint.
