Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 is rumored to have a more evolutionary design rather than a revolutionary one, with key elements carried over from previous models. The device is expected to be marketed as the first AI-foldable, but leaks suggest that it may not bring drastic changes to the overall design and specifications.

Recent leaks from certification documents filed by Samsung with the Indian authorities have revealed details about the batteries that will be included in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Z Fold 6 is listed with battery part numbers that are similar to those of the Z Fold 4, indicating that it may have a similar battery setup to its predecessor.

While many flagship phones, including the Z Fold 5, come equipped with two independent batteries for faster charging speeds, the Z Fold 6 is rumored to have a single battery design. This approach may result in slower charging times but could optimize the battery’s performance over the device’s lifetime, ensuring a longer-lasting device for users.

Using two batteries can also be beneficial for a foldable smartphone like the Z Fold 6, as designers can distribute them on either side of the hinge for better balance and comfort when holding the device in its unfolded state. The BIS documentation does not provide specific battery specifications, but the Z Fold 6 is expected to ship with a 25W charger, similar to the Z Fold 5.

The Z Fold 6 is rumored to have a 4000 mAh battery capacity, following in the footsteps of previous Fold models. Samsung is set to launch the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 during the Galaxy Unpacked event in July. However, the cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 Fan Edition may be delayed until the holiday quarter for undisclosed reasons.
