Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko recently issued a warning to potential enemies, stating that if they set foot on Belarusian soil, they will face an immediate response with all kinds of weapons, including nuclear ones. He emphasized that Russia has deployed tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus as a deterrent against neighboring countries that are heavily armed and have troops near Belarusian borders. Lukashenko reiterated his commitment to using these nuclear weapons if he feels his nation is under threat, emphasizing the importance of defending against potential aggressors.

Lukashenko has a strong alliance with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who deployed the nuclear weapons in Belarus during the summer. The Belarusian leader has been a vocal supporter of Putin’s actions in Ukraine, and he played a role in negotiations between Putin and Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin during an armed mutiny in Russia. According to Lukashenko, the presence of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus aligns with the country’s doctrine of being prepared to destroy its enemies and inflict unacceptable damage upon them if necessary.

During a session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress, Lukashenko addressed the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus, stating that they serve as a deterrent against potential adversaries. He made it clear that Belarus is prepared to respond with all available weapons, including those provided by Russia, if the nation is threatened. Lukashenko emphasized the need to counter any aggression and inflict unacceptable damage on any adversaries who dare to attack Belarus.

Lukashenko dismissed the idea that he would not use the nuclear weapons deployed in Belarus in case of a conflict, stating that this notion is nonsense. He reiterated his commitment to defending Belarus against any potential attackers and made it clear that the country’s military doctrine includes the capability to strike back with full force. By having nuclear weapons at their disposal, Lukashenko believes that Belarus can deter enemies and make it clear that any aggression will result in severe consequences.

The Belarusian leader’s strong stance on defending his nation with all available weapons, including nuclear ones, reflects his commitment to protecting Belarus against external threats. Lukashenko’s alliance with Putin and his support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine highlight his willingness to align Belarus with Russian interests. As tensions in the region remain high, Lukashenko’s warning to potential enemies serves as a reminder of Belarus’s readiness to respond with force in the face of any perceived threat.
