The sources stated that the prisoner exchange process is one of the outcomes of the consultations in the Sultanate of Oman between the Yemeni parties within the framework of the humanitarian file, which is a starting point for the implementation of the rest of the items that were agreed upon in Muscat, which constitute a starting point and a basis for starting a broad political process.

Negotiations regarding the Yemeni prisoners were held in Geneva this month, and reached an agreement between the delegation of the Yemeni government and the delegation of the Houthi militia, to release 181 prisoners from the government side, including Saudis and Sudanese, in exchange for the release of 706 Houthi prisoners.
