17

Reuters news agency published a picture of people gathering in the historic Ulu Mosque in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir, to take shelter from aftershocks and to have no other shelter, in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that has killed more than 8,300 people in Turkey and Syria so far.

The picture showed the surviving people wearing blankets in light of the extremely cold weather, which hinders rescue operations and the removal of those trapped from under the rubble, and makes the survivors suffer great hardship in comfort after their homes were destroyed, and many of them languished in the streets, schools, mosques, and temporary shelters.
