As part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”, the field teams of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority organized field tours to support and provide psychological, moral and material support to a number of affected families in Lattakia Governorate, one of the Syrian governorates affected by the earthquake that occurred last month, as part of the recovery and rehabilitation phase.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) participated in the field tours with the UAE Red Crescent team, in coordination with its Syrian counterpart, where it visited the Syrian child Abdul Hay Yassin (11 years old) in the Al-Saqubin area, one of the displaced children with his mother from Aleppo to Lattakia, who suffers from cancer. blood and is receiving treatment in Lattakia Hospital.

The Emirates Red Crescent provided all kinds of psychological and moral support to the child, Abdul Hai, and also took him from his tent to his new home next to the hospital, after paying his rent for a full year, while providing him with all the necessities for living.

The field teams, in coordination with the delegation of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, moved to the home of Marawan Muhammad Salim in the suburb of Bouqa, who lost his wife, son and a number of his relatives as a result of the earthquake in the “Damsarkho” area, and who gave thanks and gratitude to the Emirati support team, who quickly responded to the call. The Syrian people are in distress.

The Emirates Red Crescent team continued its tours in Lattakia, and met Badr al-Din Maher Ali Ibrahim, in the Northern Raml area, to console him and provide him with psychological and material support, to relieve him after he lost his two sons and wife as a result of the earthquake.

In turn, Mahmoud Rifai, a member of the Lattakia Governorate Council, appreciated the tireless role and efforts made by the UAE, which rushed to support the Syrian people through the Bridges of Good campaign, and provided moral and material support to thousands of families affected by the earthquake.

The Emirates Red Crescent teams also continued their humanitarian efforts as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”.

Crescent teams began implementing the initiatives of the holy month of Ramadan, which target approximately 160,000, whether from families affected by the earthquake, or others in several regions in Syria, with a total aid estimated at about three million and 168 thousand and 365 dirhams. On the first day of Ramadan, the field teams, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, began distributing 5,000 food baskets of Ramadan food to Syrian families, implementing Ramadan tents in five areas, distributing 75,000 breakfast meals, and preparing nearly 10,000 Eid clothes. In addition to a zakat al-fitr program targeting 5,000 families.

The Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Hammoud Abdullah Al-Junaibi, confirmed that the authority has developed an ambitious plan to promote Ramadan programs this year in the Syrian areas affected by the recent earthquake, pointing to the allocation of a large part of the “Bridges of Good” campaign, to provide the Ramadan food needs for the Syrian brothers. during the holy month.
