Various media outlets circulated new information about the Egyptian border soldier, Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, who died in an exchange of fire that also resulted in the death of 3 Israeli soldiers and the wounding of two others.
Al-Arabiya channel said, in a report on its website, that the late soldier, Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, was 23 years old, according to his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook” and the accounts of his friends who mourned him on his page, stressing that he had no political affiliations and was a fan of Traveling, travelling, photography and drawing, and he repeatedly expressed his love for Palestine, saying, “God is with Palestine.”
The report stated that the soldier was residing with his mother and two brothers in the Ain Shams area in eastern Cairo and was working as an “alumetal technician and a carpenter” to support his family after his father’s death in a traffic accident.
In addition, the “Sky News” channel quoted “Channel 12” of the Israeli television, today, Monday, that Israel returned the body of the conscript to Egypt, within the framework of the two countries’ joint dealing with the incident, and explained that this is due to Israel’s desire to preserve Egyptian confidence and the absence of A security reason for Israel to keep the body.
For its part, Russia Today reported that the family of the late Egyptian recruit, Mohamed Salah, buried his body after receiving it, and quoted one of his relatives as saying that condolences will be received in the street where he was staying in Ain Shams tomorrow, Tuesday.
The late conscript began performing military service in June last year as a police officer in the Central Security Forces at the borders in the North Sinai sector.
And the Egyptian Armed Forces had announced in a statement that one of the security forces in charge of securing the international border line chased drug-smuggling agents, and during the chase, the security guard breached the security barrier and exchanged fire, which led to the death of three Israeli security personnel. Two others were wounded, in addition to the death of the Egyptian security guard during the exchange of fire.
The statement added that all search, inspection and insurance measures were taken for the area, and legal measures were taken regarding the incident, expressing sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, and wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
