Manchester United is set to benefit financially from Borussia Dortmund’s successful run in the UEFA Champions League. As part of the loan deal for Jadon Sancho, Dortmund is required to pay United as they advance in the competition. This could result in United earning up to £3.4 million if Dortmund continues to progress in the tournament. Sancho had joined Dortmund on loan in January after a falling out with Erik ten Hag, but the clauses inserted in the deal by United are now coming into play.

Zinedine Zidane, who has been out of work since 2021, is reportedly interested in taking over the managerial role at Manchester United. Despite speculation linking him with Bayern Munich, Zidane is said to prefer joining United over the German club. With the departure of Thomas Tuchel from Bayern at the end of the season, the club is in search of a new manager. Zidane has been approached by various national teams but seems to be waiting for the right club opportunity, and United’s current situation under Erik ten Hag is appealing to him.

However, Bayern Munich is also said to be interested in hiring Zidane as their new manager. Reports suggest that Bayern are closing in on appointing a new manager, with Zidane emerging as a top choice to replace Tuchel. Despite previously snubbing interest from Bayern, Zidane’s potential appointment at the Allianz Arena looks likely. With Julian Nagelsmann opting to stay with the Germany national team until after the 2026 World Cup, Zidane could be the prime candidate to take over at Bayern this summer.

In Chelsea’s recent FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, Mauricio Pochettino started Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva as central defenders. However, The Telegraph reported that both players are likely to leave the club at the end of the season. Chalobah made a significant challenge during the game, but the paper noted the irony of both central defenders possibly departing, while new signings Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi were on the substitutes’ bench. It indicates a potential defensive reshuffle at Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window.
