The woman, 58, was reported to have been rescued from a collapsed hotel.

The province was severely affected by earthquakes, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 7.7 and occurred at 0117 GMT yesterday.

Another strong earthquake, of slightly lower magnitude, measuring 7.5, occurred around noon the same day.
