Documents revealed by a federal court today, Friday, showed that former US President Donald Trump faces 37 criminal charges, including charges of wrongfully keeping classified documents and conspiracy to obstruct justice after leaving the White House in 2021.
The Justice Department announced the indictment on a day when two of Trump’s lawyers in the case resigned and a former aide was charged.
The charges stem from Trump’s handling of sensitive government materials that he took with him when he left the White House in January 2021.
Trump is scheduled to appear in court for the first time in connection with this case in Miami on Tuesday, just one day before he turns 77.
