Manchester United are keeping a close eye on RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo, who could be available for £52 million this summer. However, they may face competition from Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Real Madrid for the Spain international’s signature. Real Madrid are also expected to sign Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian Kendrick while potentially making a bid for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies. United are looking to strengthen their squad with a centre forward, centre-back, full-back, and central midfielder, with much depending on player departures.

Xabi Alonso is reportedly set to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, disappointing Liverpool and Bayern Munich who were considering him as a potential manager. Leverkusen are currently leading the Bundesliga and Alonso has indicated his intention to remain with the club. This leaves Liverpool considering Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi as potential candidates for their vacant managerial position. Bayern Munich had expressed interest in Alonso but have now deemed it unlikely to lure him to Munich this year.

Spanish striker Joselu is linked with a potential “shock transfer” to Manchester United, with representatives reportedly enquiring about a summer deal. Currently on loan at Real Madrid from Espanyol, the 34-year-old could provide backup to Rasmus Hojlund. However, competition from other English clubs remains a factor, and Joselu’s priority is to remain at Real Madrid. Additionally, the decision on this potential transfer may depend on the next sporting director at United.

Todd Boehly is set to be replaced as Chelsea’s chairman in 2027, with a new chairman to be appointed then. Boehly, who took on the role in June 2022, will be stepping down as part of an agreement among the club’s American co-owners. The new chairman will be chosen from among the owners, including partners from Clearlake Capital who hold the majority stake in the club’s holding company. Boehly will have the option to return to the role in 2032 if he wishes and retains his stake in the club.
