Since the “toilet war” in 2016, the debate on the place of transgender people in the public space has continued to grow in the United States, on the political and media scene. The website Trans Legislation Tracker lists all the debated measures restricting the rights of trans people, and they number in the hundreds.
Particularly targeted by prohibitions are access to various medical procedures for minors (hormonal therapy, puberty retarders, sex reassignment surgeries), public toilets and changing rooms, and the participation of transgender women in women’s sports competitions.
