Meanwhile, members of Parliament and the High Council of State disavowed the announcement of their members in the joint committee (6 + 6) that they had reached a final agreement on outstanding issues, with regard to the laws regulating the postponed presidential and parliamentary elections.

Although the House of Representatives refrained from issuing an official position, the 61 deputies accused the committee, in a statement issued early this morning (Sunday) and addressed to the Speaker and his two deputies, of “deviating from the work for which it was chosen, which is the agreement on Controversial points related to the election of the president ».

The statement, which was also addressed to Abdullah Batili, the UN envoy, denounced “the many statements that result from the committee” and accused it of “exceeding its work, to choosing the number of members of the House of Representatives from increasing the seats,” and holding it “historical and political responsibility before the people, and what might happen.” From differences between the people of the same country ».

The statement, which valued the work of the committee and the agreements reached, also held the Presidency of the House of Representatives responsible for signing or approving any amendment without referring to the dome of Parliament. The statement called on the members of the committee, out of respect for their fellow deputies, their parliament, and all Libyan people who are voters at the district level, not to approve any amendments without referring to the parliament, and not to interfere in parliamentary seats by increasing or decreasing them, and leaving them for the next constitution.

The statement called on the United Nations and its mission in Libya to respect the will of the Libyan people and their judicial authority, and not to deal with bodies and committees that are considered before the judiciary.

Members of the Joint Committee (6 + 6), formed from the House of Representatives and the “Supreme Council of State” to prepare electoral laws, announced their unanimous vote during a meeting in the Moroccan city of Bouznika on the three laws related to the election of the head of state and the National Assembly (parliament) in its two chambers (deputies and elders). .

They pointed out that they had reached what they described as “consensus and convergence between the members of the committee” in the main contentious articles related to the candidacy of military personnel and dual nationals in the presidential elections.

They also suggested that the electoral laws and the constitutional rule, agreed upon under Moroccan auspices, be announced and officially signed by Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Khaled Al-Mishri, President of the High Council of State (Monday) in Bouznika.
