Saudi Arabia celebrates its 92nd National Day with celebrations and carnivals

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, said that the anniversary of the Saudi National Day “expresses pride in the glories of the nation, and pride in its standing and unity among the nations that established the foundations of this lofty structure.”

In a tweet on the social networking site “Twitter”, King Salman called on God to preserve the country and maintain security and stability.

The Saudis celebrated the 92nd anniversary of the Saudi National Day, Friday, with a number of activities and carnivals that covered the Kingdom.

This year’s celebration is distinguished by being the first after setting the first founding day approved by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, on January 27 last, and setting February 22 of each year as a day to commemorate the founding of Saudi Arabia with the name “Foundation Day” in which the state was established. Saudi Arabia at the hands of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, and Diriyah was taken as the capital of the state on February 22, 1727.

The Saudi National Day marks the date of the unification of the country by King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman, renaming it the “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” and its capital, Riyadh, on September 23, 1932.

Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, said that the anniversary of the National Day “in which we restore the establishment of Saudi Arabia at the hands of its founder King Abdul Aziz – may his soul rest in peace – who united with his men this blessed country, and established security and stability in it.” Prince Khalid bin Salman added, through a tweet on his official account on Twitter: “We are inspired by their heroism and sacrifice, vigor and courage, to go with our wise leadership in achieving its vision for the future of our country.”
