Portuguese coach Daniel Ramos announced that winning the Saudi Super Cup, which will bring his team to Al Hilal next January, comes at the forefront of his interests, as he is interested in achieving the King’s Cup championship, which the team holds its title.
Ramos talked about his mission to improve the team’s position in the Saudi Professional League by working on a distinctive combination of players and building a strong personality for the team.
This came during a press conference held yesterday at the club’s headquarters in Majmaah, during which Ramos expressed his happiness at signing for Al-Faisaly, noting that he felt the family atmosphere from the moment he arrived.
Coach Ramos had started his duties with the team after he was contracted to succeed Italian coach Paolo Tramizani, whose contract was canceled as a result of the significant decline in the levels and results of the team since his contract for this season and after the expiry of “7” rounds of the Saudi Professional League.
Upon his arrival, the Portuguese coach was keen to hold an extensive meeting with the players and in the presence of the club’s management headed by Fahd Al-Medlej, a number of members and the administrative body in order to talk about working together in the next stage in order to return the team to its normal state and achieve the best results and levels.
The coach listened to the management’s talk, ambitions and vision about the team’s situation and the upcoming benefits that await the team, including the first participation in the next edition of the AFC Champions League.
The administration also stressed the importance of the team appearing better in the league championship and advancing in the standings, as well as in the King’s Cup, where Al-Faisaly will compete in the next edition as the title holder.
The coach stressed that teamwork will be the slogan for the next stage, stressing that everyone bears the responsibility, and that the duty is the spirit of the one team until Al-Faisaly returns as he loves his supporters.
The coach had followed a number of the team’s matches in this season’s league in order to get acquainted with the players’ situation and abilities, as well as the friendly match that the team played against Al-Batin the day before yesterday, which is the only one during the current period of suspension of the league championship.
The match witnessed the participation of the majority of the players to determine their technical levels, while the player Mohammed Al-Saiari showed a serious desire to return strongly to his team’s list after the former coach was not very convinced of his technical abilities, which made him one of the candidates to leave the loan system to one of the clubs before the closing of the summer registration period.
Al-Saiari scored his team’s first goal in the friendly match, while Roman scored the second goal.
Al-Faisaly will play his next match in the league against Al-Hazm in the eighth round matches at Al-Awal Stadium, in a match that will be the first under the leadership of the Portuguese coach, who has a good training record in his country.
Al-Faisaly occupies the ninth place in the standings table after the end of the seventh round of the league with “9” points, which came from two wins, “3” draws and two losses against Al Ittihad and Damak, who respectively lead the standings.
