Woman charged with driving five times over the limit while three kids were inside her car

A 33-year-old woman has been charged with drink driving after she was allegedly caught behind the wheel with three kids in her car while five times over the legal alcohol limit on a highway southwest of Sydney.

Three children were found inside the vehicle, including a three-month-old baby.

Thankfully none of the children had been harmed.

Police alleged that the Gymea Bay woman returned a positive breath test, and was subsequently arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station.

At the station she undertook another breath test which returned an alleged reading of 0.249, almost five times the legal limit.

She was charged with a drink driving offence and was suspended from driving.

She is due to appear in Nowra Local Court on November 1.
