An urgent recall has been issued for a common battery sold at a number of national retail chains including Woolworths, Bunnings and BIG W.
The Energizer A76 Miniature 1.5V Alkaline/Watch button batteries, sold in packs of four, have been recalled as they do not comply with mandatory information standards.
The recalled products were sold nationally and online from May 5 to July 12 in 2022.

The product is required to have a warning symbol, advising consumers to keep it out of children’s reach.
This symbol is not visible as it has been covered by a sticker on the back of the product’s packaging.
The batteries pose a risk of serious injury if swallowed or inserted in the body.
Consumers should immediately place the batteries out of children’s reach.
