The investigation into the disappearance of two Kansas mothers, Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley, led to the discovery of two bodies in rural Texas County, Oklahoma. The remains, found on Sunday, will undergo further examination by the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner to determine identification, cause, and manner of death. Butler and Kelley went missing on March 30 while driving to pick up Butler’s children for a birthday party in Kansas. Kelley oversaw Butler’s visits with her children, who were residing with their paternal grandparent in Eva, Oklahoma.

The two missing mothers were reported missing on the same day their blood-soaked vehicle was discovered abandoned in rural Oklahoma, near the Kansas border. Four individuals were arrested and charged in connection with their disappearance the day before the bodies were found. Tad Bert Cullum, Tifany Machel Adams, Cole Earl Twombly, and Cora Twombly were charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. Adams, the paternal grandmother of Butler’s children, and Cullum, her boyfriend, were among those arrested.

Cole and Cora Twombly, who have been in a relationship for eight years, were also charged in connection with the disappearance. The Twomblys are friends with Adams on Facebook. Law enforcement agencies were present at properties in Cimmaron and Texas Counties during the arrests. Adams’ home was one of the locations searched. One suspect was arrested in Cimmaron County while the remaining three were charged in Texas County. The investigation into the disappearance of the mothers is ongoing.

Reports suggest that Butler was embroiled in a custody battle with the children’s father and was seeking increased visitation rights, possibly aiming for full custody. Adams, who had custody of the children at the time of Butler’s disappearance, was involved in overseeing the visits between Butler and her children. The connections and motives of the suspects in the case are still under investigation. The discovery of the bodies in rural Texas County has added a tragic dimension to the case of the missing Kansas mothers, further intensifying the investigation into their disappearance.
